When luxury German fashion brand Hugo Boss refitted their Manchester store, they aimed to create a shopping environment that reflected the sophistication and elegance of their brand. As part of this transformation, our Stepline Modena anti-slip inserts were selected to enhance the striking staircase connecting the ground and first floors. The goal was to combine practical safety with sleek, high-end design, ensuring the staircase became a standout feature of the store.

The tiled surface of the staircase presented a specific challenge: it required a non-slip finish that maintained an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The anti-slip step inserts needed to complement the luxurious interior design scheme while enhancing the overall customer experience of this premium retail space. It was essential that the solution not only looked the part but also aligned with the brand’s commitment to quality and attention to detail.

Artech’s Stepline Modena stainless steel anti-slip inserts proved to be the perfect choice for this project. These inserts provide a robust, long-lasting solution, paired with a striking finish that elevates the staircase design. Unlike traditional nosing systems, which can detract from the aesthetic of high-end interiors, the sleek appearance of the Modena step inserts adds a modern, refined touch. Additionally, both the tiled stairs and the steel inserts are designed to require minimal maintenance, ensuring the staircase remains both functional and visually appealing over time.

Each step was fitted with two stainless steel anti-slip inserts, positioned a small margin above the stair tread surface and spaced approximately 30mm apart. This precise configuration created a defined and safe stepping zone along the stair edge, improving safety without compromising the clean and elegant look of the staircase. In total, 130 metres of Stepline Modena stainless steel anti-slip step inserts were installed, resulting in a staircase that perfectly balances style and functionality.

The finished project is a testament to how thoughtful design and high-quality materials can combine to elevate a space. The staircase not only enhances the interior design of the store but also reflects Hugo Boss’s commitment to excellence, ensuring a premium shopping experience for their customers.
